Wintertime

New Hampshire, as with all northern states, has a harsh climate for a good part of the year. Life was certainly harder in the olden days, when there was no central heating, no motorized plows or snowblowers, limited lighting, outhouses (hard to even think about that), limited communication, and no microwave or Keurig for a quick pick-me-up. Imagine that! Well, hardy residents found a way to deal with it - REVEL IN THE SEASON. Here are some of the ways people took advantage of the winter and still do today.

The Wolfeboro Historical Society welcomes the donation of local photographs from the early days, as well as any details that may be found in ancestors attics.
