The Lewando and Tilton Grocery and Hardware Store was in the Peavey Block from 1899-1922. Joseph Lewando and Wilbur J. Tilton carried a variety of supplies and, in 1905, had their own steamship, named the Grocer, to deliver to summer camps. In 1903, they were noted for installing a telephone for the summer trade. Photo was taken in June, 1903. A wide variety of packaged, bottled, canned, smoked and fresh produce is displayed.
