Maid of the Isles at the Weirs, built c. 1876 in Wolfeboro, was 96 feet long with a 500 passenger capability. It was propellor driven, unusual in this era of paddlewheelers. Initially called the Gazelle, it was used for charters and events, but there were also some regular stops and freight work. Clumsy, and with a deep draft, it was taken out of service after only two seasons. Finally, the idle vessel was rebuilt and put back into service in 1890, later replacing the routes of the Lady of the Lakes. Also used for excursions, it was retired in 1901.
