The Swallow in Wolfeboro Bay. Longstack Mountain in the left background. This 64 foot long auxiliary yacht was built in East Boston in 1891 and moved to Lake Winnipesaukee in 1897. Capt. John Goodhue of Moultonborough used it for charters and fishing outings. Ads indicated a 50 passenger capacity. With its clipper ship style bow, it was a familiar sight for many years. Under several owners, the yacht continued as a charter ship, and was very popular with the summer camps. Finally, in 1973, its long career was ended. Too costly to repair, it lay unused until dismantled and burned in 1986.
