This photo is on Railroad Ave. The building on the left was the second building behind the Bank Block and had severe internal damage in a fire on Jan. 1, 1958. The photo dates to April 12, 1958. The store on the right, Kent's Market (meals & groceries) was in the first building behind the Bank Block and was not damaged. The horse and wagon belonged to Grover L. Moody of the Wolfeboro Highlands (a name given to the northwest district of Wolfeboro, also called the Lord's Quarter, when the Town was originally divided). Grover Moody, a WWII veteran, was part of the Moody family that lived in the Pork Hill Rd. area. The names Moody Mt. and Moody Mt. Farm are still used today. It is not known why he brought his team to town at this late date.
