This is the only photo in WHS files showing the extensive orchards operated from about 1920 into the 1950's by Walter Hale and his son Norman, and Roy W. Foster, at the junction of South Main St. and Pleasant Valley Rd. The other road forming the triangle at the left is Cross Rd. Click on the photo twice to enlarge and the neat rows of trees will be obvious. The owners names will be upside down, in purple. If you drive past the area, a few of the old trees can still be seen.
