The Sheridan House on North Main St. was built in 1795 and razed in 1941 to build a gas station. Today, the site is the Wolfeboro Marketplace, adjacent to the Durgin Building. This hotel had many structural and name changes over the years. The name Lake Hotel (sometimes noted as Lake House) was used from 1850-1891. George Keniston was the owner from 1850-1882. This artist's sketch shows the two-story ell which was added during that time.
