School Team (bus), c. 1915, in front of Hotel Elmwood, now the site of the Wolfeboro Post Office. Kneeling in front is driver Alvan T. Hatch with dog "Chief", who went on every trip. This route was from Carpenter School up North Main Street. Anyone living above Forest Road got a free ride. Those who lived closer had to pay for the ride, presumably because they were close enough to be able to walk to school.
