The New England Sled Dog Club was founded in 1924 and runs races on Chocurua Lake in Tamworth every year, if weather and snow conditions cooperate. They are a popular attraction with many classes, including children, amateurs, and large professional teams. The enthusiasm of the friendly dogs is amazing, as the dogs love people and running. Every musher can provide a tale of the day the dogs got away, and took the sled without a driver on a nice outing.
