Steamship Cyclone with the Brewster Free Academy Outing Club, c. early 1900's. The 80 foot steamship was built in 1886 and had regular routes between the Weirs and Melvin Village. It was also available for charters. In 1903, it took Brewster students across the lake on their way to play an unnamed game at Holderness. Like other lake steamers of the time, the Cyclone was sometimes used as a work boat, and was known to tow rafts of logs to the sawmill. It burned while docked at Union Wharf (date unknown).
