This elegant residence was built on North Main Street in the mid-1890's by Daniel Leavitt, then purchased by C.K. Fox in 1904, and used as a seasonal residence for his family into the 1920's. Fox was owner of the prominent four-story shoe factory on Factory Street (now Lehner Street) which he began in 1903 and ran under the Fox name until sold in 1923.
